Why We Love Sacred Heart!

We’re talking to families who chose Sacred Heart of Jesus School for their children. Some live in the parish and others drive quite a distance to be part of the SHS family. For the next several months, we will be sharing some of their stories.
The Perrault Family
Meet the Perrault family, Sacred Heart parishioners and school parents since 2008. With four school-age children, the Perraults love their school and parish community! Read their full story here.
The Allemond Family
Meet the Allemonds, a family that drives 45 minutes round-trip each school day to attend SHS. The Allemonds are members of a church parish that does not have a school; their priest recommended Sacred Heart. Read their full story here.
The Mascari Family
Meet the Mascari family, Sacred Heart parishioners who joined the school family in 2006. That's when daughter Kate entered kindergarten; she is now a rising eighth-grader. Her brother Peter will be in fourth grade in the fall. Parents Pam and Brian researched education opportunities in Baton Rouge before Kate was born. Read their full story here.

TIP News

Twelve SHS seventh-graders qualified for the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP), making them eligible to take the ACT. Qualifying students take the same ACT as high school students. Of the twelve, Eli Barbin qualified for Grand Recognition, based on his ACT score! Only three percent of participants achieve this honor. Barbin qualified for State Recognition, along with Truett Bankston, Joshua Ford, Danielle Jones and Jake Liam. Five students qualified for the Academy for Summer Studies, including Bankston, Ford, Lim, Finn Miller and Hayden Toups. Joshua, Danielle and Eli attended the awards ceremony in Natchitoches recently. Congratulations to all!
